“The First Annual Duck Springs Whistling Contest” (ReadersMagnet; 2021) by up-and-coming author Bobbie J. McLaren is one of the thousands of new titles that will be displayed at the 2022 L.A. Times Festival of Books on April 23-24, 2022 at the University of Southern California campus, LA, CA.

The children’s book, which is McLaren’s second published book, will be publicly displayed at the exhibit that self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will host at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, which is the country’s largest literary event. The author’s first book, The Sounds at River’s Edge, will also be exhibited.

“The First Annual Duck Springs Whistling Contest” is the story about Tyler James, a six-year-old boy who whistles all the time. One day, Tyler looks into the window at the store and sees a poster inside that says that there is a whistling contest coming up. There are three different age groups, and the winner in each age group will win a silver whistle, and the grand prize winner will get a $50 gift card.

Tyler knows he could win one of the silver whistles if he tries really hard. But the most unfortunate thing happens: a bully causes him to wreck his scooter and knocks out his front tooth.

Will Tyler be able to enter – and win – the whistling contest? Find that out in Bobbie J. McLaren’s “The First Annual Duck Springs Whistling Contest”. Order a copy today through Amazon.
