Bloomberg Women’s Buy-Side Network Launches California Chapter

Bloomberg announced a new California Chapter of the Bloomberg Women’s Buy-Side Network (BWBN), a group focused on elevating women in the asset management industry. The California chapter is part of Bloomberg’s growing Women’s Buy-Side Networks, which now include chapters in Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Led by senior-level buy-side executives, the chapter will focus on inclusivity, education and connectivity to help bring together women and senior industry leaders to assist with mentoring, sponsorship, and networking to help promote more women up to management-level buy-side positions.

The new California Chapter is founded by Bonnie Wongtrakool, Global Head of ESG Investments, Portfolio Manager at Western Asset Management Company; Jerilyn Castillo McAniff, Managing Director, Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Oaktree Capital Management; Monica Erickson, Head of Investment Grade Corporate Credit, Portfolio Manager at DoubleLine Capital LP; and Pooja Malik, Founding Partner and CEO at Nipun Capital.

Established in 2018, the Bloomberg Women’s Buy-side Network (BWBN) is a community of women in the asset management industry, who share the vision of building the next generation of female buy-side leaders.  The network serves as a support system for members, promotes meritocracy and inclusion in the industry, and educates women on potential career paths.
