Nearpod, a teacher-centric, interactive instructional platform that gives teachers real-time insights into student learning, is further expanding its popular Camp Engage professional development (PD) program with the launch of Camp Engage International. This virtual PD event will help teachers integrate Nearpod into classrooms all across the globe, connecting educators from Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Australia. Following on the success of US-based Camp Engage programs, as well as Camp Engage Latinoamérica, this PD will offer tools and ideas to engage students from all educational levels in a creative and innovative way through Nearpod.

Since its inaugural Camp Engage in the summer of 2019, Nearpod has drawn in thought leaders, administrators, teachers and professors to engage in workshops, networking opportunities and the opportunity to win prizes for themselves and their schools. The most recent PD event, Camp Engage Latinoamérica in August, saw over 8,700 registrants.

The event will include a comprehensive lineup of workshops, panels and presentations dedicated to topics such as transitioning between home and in-class learning and how to integrate your current class technology in one place with Nearpod. The event will also feature a panel discussion with educators from three different countries around the realities, challenges and solutions for hybrid education today.

“We’re excited to continue expanding free professional development for teachers all across the world,” shared Ignacio Zinny, Head of International at Nearpod. “Teachers not only need the right tools that are reliable and engaging for their students, but the training to be able to use them to their full potential. We’re proud to serve educators globally with both the resources and training to create interactive, innovative learning environments.”

Throughout the event, educators can learn at their own pace from more than 15 workshops and sessions, along with opportunities to network with other educators as well as Nearpod experts and employees. For those unable to attend live, recordings will be made available after the event. In addition to the workshops and activities, participants are encouraged to join the Nearpod Facebook group of over 42,000 educators to connect with colleagues from around the world. Within the group, learning goes beyond the lessons, as teachers share both traditional professional learning tactics, such as thoughtful discussion, as well as more unorthodox, engagement-based learning such as songwriting, meme-creation and more.

Every camper will receive a certificate of completion, with hours being credited to each session they’ve attended. During the event, campers will have the opportunity to walk away with prizes, by participating in a social media challenge ahead of the event.
