No barriers – FL3XX and MySky maximize aviation efficiency

Both FL3XX, a provider of aviation management software, and MySky, the technology company specializing in spend management solutions, bring powerful automation and efficiency to business aviation. Working together, unsurprisingly, these two pioneering organizations are delivering very productive results.

Already offering a leading web- and app-based aviation management platform for charter operators and scheduled airlines, Vienna-based FL3XX first implemented MySky’s spend management platform in early 2020.

“Unmatched” and “amazing”

Many clients credit MySky’s technology with improving their customer service and FL3XX is no exception. “MySky offers an unmatched level of additional services to FL3XX users,” says Paolo, “complementing our core functionalities in sales and reporting.” Every progressive aviation business wants to reduce their clients’ costs, save time and bring greater transparency to the industry. “Through MySky, we have enhanced our cost collection and tracking, analyzing data down to each aircraft, and the reporting is amazing.”

No barriers to progress

Few people would claim business aviation has been quick to embrace digitization, but progress is now being made. As Paolo says: “There are no barriers. The transfer of tasks from humans to software starts with simple activities and grows in complexity from there. People move from direct responsibility to piloting actions through digitization. Human interventions become more coordinated than before and processes are followed through in a more orderly fashion.”

One key benefit of the time saved by digitization, as Paolo explains, is that: “Staff are freed to focus on more reactive tasks, when necessary, thoroughly solving those challenges without stress. Software allows people to grow their jobs to a higher level of command, delivering a better overall performance and reducing their manual workload.”

Fulfilling these goals can be very hard, especially when revising long-established and familiar processes, but as Paolo explains: “You need an open approach to rethinking how things are done and you need to be willing and able to embrace change and understand the advantages of digitization.”

Paolo believes the aviation industry “is now at a turning point, partly driven by the COVID-19 crisis. People have been forced to rethink how they work during the pandemic,” raising software high on the list of many companies’ priorities. “I’d say 70% of operators are now looking at installing new software, and that number might have been as low as 20% in 2019.”

Is that installation process simple? MySky’s technology works with the latest design principles of the REST API (Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface) software architectural style, so Paolo confirms the platform was “easy to integrate. The key is then to polish your interactions with the system so everything runs in a frictionless way.”

MySky Quote integration

Looking forward, FL3XX is now working on integrating MySky Quote, a fast new predictive costs tool (or flight cost calculator) launched in 2021. The technology allows charter operators, pilots, family offices and corporate flight departments to forecast the cost of a flight with over 96% accuracy.

“MySky Quote precisely calculates customers’ quotes using real-world data,” says Paolo, “delivering a top-of-the-line service.” Very detailed, accurate quotes save so much time compared to planning with uncertainties.

Paolo concludes: “With the great working relationship we have with the MySky team, we’re really looking forward to building our integrations further.”
