Nearpod Launches Camp Engage Latinoamérica to Offer its Growing Population of International Educators with Free Virtual Professional Development

Camp Engage Latinoamérica, hosted in Spanish, invites thousands of educators to learn how to integrate Nearpod in the classroom and encourages them to join a community of over a million educators from around the world from August 24th-25th

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – WEBWIRE

Nearpod, a teacher-centric, interactive instructional platform that gives teachers real-time insights into student learning, today announces it is expanding its popular Camp Engage professional development (PD) program by hosting its first Camp Engage Latinoamérica. This virtual PD event for Spanish-speaking educators will offer two days of programming on August 24th-25th. Building on the success of its original Camp Engage programs, this PD will offer tools and ideas to engage students from all educational levels in a creative and innovative way through Nearpod.

Since its inaugural Camp Engage in the summer of 2019, Nearpod has drawn in thought leaders, administrators, teachers and professors to engage in workshops, networking opportunities and the opportunity to win prizes for themselves and their schools. The most recent Camp Engage in July saw over 14,500 registrants.

Camp Engage Latinoamérica is the first of its kind, connecting educators from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay, Venezuela and the United States – the country with the second most Spanish speakers worldwide – to encourage collaboration, learning and engagement as they prepare for the school year ahead.

“Teachers today need to be ready for anything, whether that is greeting kids in the classroom after a lockdown or maintaining momentum and energy in a virtual learning setting,” explains Ignacio Zinny, Head of the International Nearpod Team. “We want to equip educators with reliable tools and vital knowledge that will allow them to go back to class every day with a creative, engaging and innovative way to reach their students. We’re excited to bring our successful Camp Engage PD to our rapidly growing group of international educators and help them prepare to succeed with Nearpod.”

Each day of the event will include a comprehensive line up of workshops, panels and presentations dedicated to topics such as incorporating Nearpod in the physical and virtual classroom, the importance of social-emotional learning, and a panel discussion around hybrid education.

In addition to the workshops and activities, participants in the event are encouraged to join the Nearpod Educators Facebook group to connect with colleagues from around the world. Within the group, learning goes beyond the lessons, as teachers share both traditional professional learning tactics, such as thoughtful discussion as well as more unorthodox, engagement-based learning such as song writing, meme-creation and more.

Every camper will receive a certificate of completion with hours being credited to each session they’ve attended. Nearpod encourages all educators and education leaders to register for Camp Engage Latinoamérica for the latest insights to activate student engagement, regardless of whether they’re existing Nearpod users. Campers will also have an opportunity to walk away with door prizes, Nearpod Gold Membership and more.
