Kathleen Dutton’s Debut Novel, “Out of Habit” is a Story of a Budding Romance Tainted with a Dark, Mysterious Past

Men and Women of the Cloth decide to take on the path of faith and righteousness for many reasons. Some feel a calling that they cannot ignore while others do so for deeply personal and private reasons. However, others are almost born into it, having lived a life in the care and proximity of nuns, monks, or priests, that their destinies have been pretty much written for them at an early age. However, even if this is the case, things don’t always go as planned. In the book written by author Kathleen Dutton, titled “Out of Habit,” a dark and tragic past could change the destiny of the lead character, Allison. 
 
Kathleen Dutton has been writing and crafting stories since her childhood years, having recognized early on that writing means opening the doors to a world full of limitless possibilities. Growing up, her professional life took her down the path of becoming a clinical engineer who trained cardiologists in the US to support products that actually make a difference in cardiac procedures. However, her artistic life has always been drawn to writing. Nowadays, she spends her days in Michigan along with her husband and family. She draws inspiration from northern Michigan, where Hemmingway wrote his early novels. 
 
The book tells the story of Allison Weston who has lived her life with the nuns of St. Ives Institution and who is set to experience life outside the walls of the institution before she finally takes her vows. However, Sister Margaret, her guardian, feels that Allie has been hiding a tragic past, a nightmarish childhood that has left her changed and scarred. When rookie reporter Ryan Harper gets into the mix of things, he becomes hungry to uncover Allison’s dark secret but ends up falling in love with her in the process, resulting in a roller coaster of emotions for all parties involved.
