American Express Supports Flood Relief Efforts In Europe
The following memo from Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Jennifer Skyler was sent to all American Express colleagues:
The devastating floods in Germany and Western Europe have affected many American Express colleagues who live in these areas, as well as their families and friends.
To support our colleagues and the communities in which we live and serve, the American Express Foundation will contribute €100,000 (app. $115,000 USD) to support relief efforts led by the Red Cross and the International Medical Corps.
Together, these organizations are supporting urgent flood recovery; emergency accommodations; search and rescue efforts; and providing much-needed supplies, including food, safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene products, and personal protective equipment to prevent health risks and the spread of COVID in Germany and across Europe.
In addition to our pledge, the Foundation will match colleague contributions toward local and regional flood relief efforts up to €100,000 ($115,000 USD) through the American Express Match program.
