ATLANTA, Feb. 20, 2007 – Bolstering its efforts to transform the in-flight travel experience and offer customers more choices of today’s popular entertainment content, Delta Air Lines will become the first airline to offer HBO content and popular programs through the airline’s industry-leading, in-flight entertainment system on worldwide flights.

Starting this summer, customers can view a 30-minute block of HBO content composed exclusively for Delta that will be available at no cost on the aircraft’s overhead entertainment system. Customers can also view a new dedicated HBO channel, available on Delta’s seatback in-flight entertainment system, that will offer 40 to 50 hours of the network’s most popular content – including a diverse slate of award winning programming, ranging from original series, movies, theatrical films, mini-series, TV movies, stand-up comedies and family programming – all available on flights featuring Delta’s digital on-demand entertainment system. The HBO channel will be available to First class and international BusinessElite customers at no cost and to domestic Economy class customers for $5 per feature film or movie and $2 for all other television programs.

The 30-minute program blocks, composed exclusively for Delta, will feature material such as “behind-the-scenes” footage from HBO original series and interviews with actors and directors from the network’s vast programming slate. The HBO channel on Delta’s seatback, in-flight entertainment system – the industry’s first and only two-class domestic flight experience to feature digital, on-demand entertainment at every customer’s seat – will showcase 40 to 50 hours of selections including the following programs:

• Big Love
• Bill Maher – Victory Begins at Home
• Chris Rock: Bigger and Blacker
• Da Ali G Show
• Dane Cook – Tourgasm
• Deadwood
• Ellen DeGeneres – Hear and Now
• Entourage
• Extras
• Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child
• Rome
• Sex & The City
• Sopranos
• The Wire

Delta’s dedicated HBO channel will also feature documentaries, including Dare to Dream: The Story of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, When It Was a Game, Jockey, and award-winning mini series Angels in America and Band of Brothers. Delta will update the two, 30-minute programming blocks twice a month and the on-demand programming on a quarterly basis.

“As Delta continues to transform the in-flight travel experience, we’re thrilled to work with HBO to offer selections from their popular original series, movies and more, exclusively for our customers,” said Joanne Smith, Delta’s vice president of Marketing for Delta. “HBO is a pioneer in original programming and we are proud to offer select programming through our state-of-the-art, in-flight entertainment system. This is just one of the many ways we’re providing air travelers with more of the entertainment choices they prefer when they fly.”

“Delta’s advanced in-flight entertainment system will provide fans of HBO programming with an ideal viewing experience while they travel,” said Dan Selig, Director, International Distribution for HBO. “The innovation allows another opportunity to showcase the high quality and award-winning programming that has defined the HBO brand, as well as providing a new avenue for exposure to a greater domestic and international audience.”

The new HBO on-demand programming will be available through Delta’s new two-class, domestic transcontinental aircraft featuring all-leather seating in both first class and coach. On these refurbished aircraft, every customer has a front row seat to great entertainment with Delta’s state-of-the-art, digital in-flight entertainment – boasting more than 24 channels of live television, more than 20 first-run and popular classic movies, a broad range of music, and a suite of 10 video games – available on demand at every seat. Delta is the first and only U.S. carrier to offer this entertainment experience on a two-class, domestic product to all passengers on select Delta flights over four hours (or more than 1,750 miles), including those from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle and more.

This year, Delta also continues updating its international BusinessElite class with a similar, industry-leading entertainment system on its current fleet of 75 aircraft flying international routes. And, beginning in 2008, Delta plans to be the first U.S. airline to offer its international business class customers a true lie-flat seat in its BusinessElite® cabin on ultra long-haul flights to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
