She then started a 20-year search to find her real father. Her search was challenging, and many obstacles were in her way. After years of searching, she finally met him. But in a a twist of fate, she lost him again, this time from a battle with cancer, after a year of being reunited with him.

Born in 1959, Sonia Preston (also known as Anttonia Barten) was a refugee in a strange country when she was nine years old. Her friends and colleagues encouraged her to tell her own story about how the Russians invaded her hometown and how it was a devastating event to be separated from her biological father.
