The award recognizes outstanding longform TV, OTT and video from Vox Media Studios, Eater, and Vox

WEBWIRE

The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized Vox Media’s standout longform content from Vox Media Studios, Eater, and Vox with five nominations and one already-announced Daytime Emmy winner. The nominations span formats and topics: Eater’s Mise en Place, on YouTube; Eater’s Guide to the World from Eater and Vox Media Studios for Hulu; Glad You Asked from Vox and Vox Media Studios for YouTube Originals; and Creators for Change on Girls’ Education with Michelle Obama, produced by Vox Media Studios for YouTube Originals.

In addition to these nominations, Creators for Change on Girls’ Education with Michelle Obama previously won at Friday’s Daytime Emmy ceremony for Outstanding Nonfiction Special.

We’re thrilled to celebrate the work, and teams of creators, from Vox Media Studios, the company’s entertainment division, and the sophisticated editorial video teams from Eater and Vox, each of whom are known for creating, developing, producing and distributing premium video.

Along with one 2021 Emmy win, Vox Media’s newest nominations include:

  • Mise En Place: Outstanding Culinary Series
  • Eater’s Guide to the World: Single Camera Editing
  • Eater’s Guide to the World: Directing Team for a Single Camera Daytime Non-Fiction Program
  • Glad You Asked: Outstanding Educational or Informational Series
  • Creators for Change with Michelle Obama on Girls’ Education: Outstanding Directing for a Single Camera Daytime Non-Fiction Program

Eater’s Mise en Place takes audiences into the most prestigious kitchens in the world to show what it takes to run a fine-dining establishment, from sourcing to plating. Each episode, available on YouTube, features a different master chef at the height of their careers as they prep for service and run their restaurants each night. With detailed close-ups and compelling voice overs, viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the most tiny, complex, elegant details that define Michelin-worthy dining experiences.

Eater’s Guide to the World, a culinary series from Eater and Vox Media Studios available on Hulu, serves as a locals’ guide to the most unexpected places to score an epic meal. Narrated by Emmy award winning actress Maya Rudolph, each episode offers the award-winning network’s unique insight into local food communities.

Season 1 of Glad You Asked, hosted by Cleo Abram, Joss Fong, Alex Clark and Christophe Haubursin, was an ensemble-led exploration of topics driven by our curiosity about the world around us. Using Vox’s signature explainer format, each season empowers audiences to better understand their world through various social experiments. Glad You Asked is produced by Vox and Vox Media Studios and available on Vox’s YouTube channel.

In Creators for Change on Girls’ Education with Michelle Obama, produced by Vox Media Studios, Michelle Obama and the Girls Opportunity Alliance sit down with YouTube Creators Liza Koshy, Prajakta Koli and Thembe Mahlaba to answer the question “what does it really mean to educate a girl?” Each creator travels to a different country to visit a grassroots organization working to improve the lives of girls in their community.

Winners for these categories will be announced on Sunday, July 18.
