If you like Tom Clancy’s spy thrillers then Boffa’s novels will appeal to you. With layers of brilliant plotting, non-stop action, ever-present threat, and an edge-of-your-seat pacing, “Deception” captures the reader’s attention and grips down hard until the very last page. So full of twists and turns, and what turns out to be is not as it appears.
 
Boffa let’s us see the different sides of mac Daniels, thanks in large part to his interactions with his love interest, Astrid Reed. His use of humor is well placed in breaking tense moments. The narrative is filled with double-crosses, set-ups, undercover operations, kidnappings, and assorted espionage, it’s easy to let the character development take a back burner, but this is not the case here. 
 
Gene Boffa’s “Deception” is an absolute page-turner and praised by critics. It will take you on a roller coaster ride. A fast-paced spy thriller does not disappoint and has a lot to recommend.
