“Grant’s Wish” - a Wealth of History in Reviewing a Hotel’s Past
Events in history often fade out with time, but when forgotten history be brought back in to the light due to an individual’s passion then it creates a wonderful experience for all who are able to experience the event.
“Grant’s Wish” is a charming story set in the imaginary rendition of the city of Plainview, Indiana. The story revolves around a very antique and historic hotel. It’s outdated, in disrepair, and being mishandled by its current owner. Guests at the 150-year-old Silver Swan Inn have included writers and dignitaries. It mentioned military figures who stopped there occasionally during the Civil War, including U.S. General Ulysses S. Grant.
The main protagonist of this story is Lee Nieman, who is assigned as manager at the Swan hotel and reluctantly accepts the position in his chain’s least profitable facility. But, captivated by its legends, vintage ambiance, and the Swan’s hidden secrets, he soon considers purchasing the property.
