Epicurious announces that it will no longer be featuring beef in its recipes, after quietly slowing down the creation and publication of beef recipes since 2019.

Senior Editor Maggie Hoffman spoke to Forbes about the initiative. "The way we’re eating is leading to more methane in the atmosphere, more deforestation, and more pollution in our rivers and oceans. So we felt like we needed to speak up about our hopes: that cooks would plan meals with the planet in mind"

[p"There’s so much food in the world, and we work with so many fantastic recipe developers, it’s honestly not difficult at all to skip one ingredient that’s been covered plenty in the past. We’re so excited about what we’ve published in the past year, and what’s coming"[/p]

Epicurious has also launched a guide to easing into meatless eating.
