The Elizabeth Hospice Launches Young Grievers Support Group

New Community Resource for Adults, Ages 18 to 35, Who Have Lost A Loved One

San Diego, CA USA – WEBWIRE

Grief is a normal and natural response to the death of a significant person in your life, yet it can be very difficult to bear. But with guidance from bereavement specialists and the support of others who share similar struggles, it is possible to find comfort and feel hopeful again.

All adults, ages 18 to 35, who are grieving the loss of a loved one, are invited to attend YOUNG GRIEVERS SUPPORT GROUP. Led by  grief counselors with The Elizabeth Hospice, participants will gain a greater understanding of their grief experience, reduce their feelings of loneliness, anxiety and distress, and connect with other young adults. These virtual drop-in sessions will be held via Zoom on Mondays from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The group is open to everyone in the community and there is no cost to attend.

“Our counselors will facilitate discussions and provide resources to help young adults explore their grief and develop coping skills,” said Kathlyne Barnum, Clinical Counseling Program Supervisor with The Elizabeth Hospice. “This support group will focus on the specific struggles that come with loss at this life stage.”

Space is limited and registration is required. RSVP to Cynthia.Swayze@ehospice.org or 760.294.5964.
