Dr. Lose paved the path for all women veterinary surgeons. She was well-known for her expertise and how she manifested a thriving practice of caring for horses. The events are inspiring, humorous, and sometimes melancholic. But there is never a dull moment following the adventures of a pioneer and first rate horsewoman.
 
The book also contains historical photos which bring to life a tribute to such a fascinating woman who served those in need. It is a well written and documented read.  When Dr. Lose accepted her position, she gave it her all. She was just passionate of her work and compassionate as a person. Unbeknownst to the protagonist, her contributions added a new dimension to her practice.
 
Some do well in what is known. Others can be pathsetters in their practice, despite gender, color, or disability. This book exemplies just that.
 
Anyone will be fascinated by this light and heartwarming tale.
