Amira Learning’s AI Reading Tutor Named Best Remote Learning Technology for Young Students by Tech & Learning Magazine

Amira Learning, the first of its kind voice AI-based reading tutor for students, was recently selected by Tech & Learning Magazine as a Best Remote/Blended Learning Tool for Primary Grades. The recognition comes as students, parents and teachers transitioned to remote learning environments this past year, creating a need for resources that could help students continue to excel while learning remotely. The winning education solutions were deemed by Tech & Learning judges as standout products in helping students succeed in new learning environments.

Throughout the pandemic, as parents continued to work from home, many families have struggled with keeping their children on pace in remote schooling, especially with literacy. Meanwhile, data shows the average cost of a tutor is between $25-$80 an hour. This prices out a majority of American families, and feeds into ~68% of 4th graders unable to read proficiently.  

Amira’s technology was developed with more than 20 years of research from esteemed Carnegie & Mellon University to help close America’s staggering literacy gap through dynamic, personalized reading experiences for students. The platform uses an AI tutor to track words simultaneously from a screen as a student reads aloud while correcting pronunciation based on a database of knowledge and dialects.
