SAN ANTONIO (February 1, 2007) --- Family Praise Center (FPC) of San Antonio is beginning a year-long campaign to raise funds for key charities in the community, and will kick off the program with a special luncheon February 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the SAM Ministries Transitional Living and learning Center located at 5922 Blanco Rd.

The luncheon will highlight seven charitable organizations that are making a difference in the lives of those in need throughout San Antonio and will initiate the year-long “Giving
Change to Make a Change” fundraising drive, designed to raise resources for the San Antonio Children’s Shelter and Respite Care of San Antonio which cares for children with special needs. FPC has also committed to giving generously of its resources and volunteer time to these seven charitable organizations in the coming months.

Host for the luncheon will be FPC’s Senior Pastor, Bishop Rick Hawkins. “We’re excited about this incredible opportunity to partner with groups and individuals who are making a real difference in the lives of people here in San Antonio,” said Bishop Hawkins. “The heart of the Gospel is reaching to people right where they’re at, and that’s what this effort is all about.”

Joining Bishop Hawkins will be special guest speaker Paula White, an internationally known author, evangelist, and motivational speaker, who with her husband Randy pastors Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Florida. “Paula knows what it means to go from tragedy to triumph, from poverty to prosperity,” said Bishop Hawkins. “She has dedicated her life to helping guide others out of those circumstance so they can focus on God’s unique plan for their lives. She is sure to encourage, inspire, and challenge all who attend this important event.”

Staff and volunteers from Family Praise Center will also be on hand at the luncheon to serve those in attendance and to distribute needed items and supplies to the residents of the SAM Ministries Transitional Living and Learning Center.
