EMSL’s Seattle Lab Celebrates 5th Year of AIHA-LAP, LLC EMLAP Accreditation for Fungal Examination

EMSL’s Seattle, Washington laboratory has renewed its AIHA EMLAP accreditation for mold analysis and is equipped to accept fungal work.

EMSL Analytical, Inc.’s Seattle, Washington laboratory has renewed its accreditation for mold analysis by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA-LAP, LLC) (Lab ID #167337) Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP). EMSL’s Seattle laboratory can perform fungal testing in air, bulk and surface samples. The Seattle laboratory was initially AIHA EMPLAP accredited in 2016 and will continue to renew its accreditation in order to provide clients with the most accurate and up-to-date testing services.

EMSL follows the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 policies and procedures along with offering high-quality testing services to its clients. The laboratory identifies fungal spores, insect fragments, epithelial cells, hyphal fragments, pollen, and various fibrous components from spore trap and surface samples.

The laboratory is also accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for asbestos analysis. EMSL Seattle is certified by the California State Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (CA ELAP) for metals and bulk asbestos, and is also accredited by the State of Washington Department of Ecology for asbestos analysis by polarized light microscopy (PLM).
