Frans Keurentjes to be succeeded as chair by Erwin Wunnekink

The Board of the dairy cooperative Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. has appointed Erwin Wunnekink as its new chair with effect from 16 June 2021, because Frans Keurentjes has decided to step down as chair with effect from that date. Sandra Addink-Berendsen will fill in the position of vice-chair.

Frans Keurentjes: “I have been the chair of our dairy cooperative for over four years. An honourable position that I have held with great passion and pleasure. Our members and our wonderful dairy products are close to my heart. I think this moment, halfway through my last term, is the right time to step down. The cooperative will start with a new governance, and the company is currently accelerating the implementation of its strategy. I am proud of what we have achieved together in the cooperative in these recent, turbulent years, even though it was not always easy. Examples are the cooperative vision The Merits of Milk, the steps we took to make FrieslandCampina and the dairy sector more sustainable and the way we entered into a constructive dialogue with each other. What will stay with me the most are the personal conversations about the major challenges we face as a sector and what we, as a cooperative, can do for our members in this regard.”

Frans Keurentjes has been a member of the Board of the dairy cooperative and of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. (and its legal predecessor) since December 2006. He has been chair since 20 December 2016.

Erwin Wunnekink, who has been a member of the Cooperative’s Board and the Supervisory Board since December 2009, was appointed vice-chair in December 2016. Wunnekink owns a dairy farm in Haarlo (NL).

Sandra Addink-Berendsen has been a member of the Cooperative’s Board and the Supervisory Board since 2014. She is owner of a dairy farm in Markelo (NL). With effect from 16 June 2021, Erwin Wunnekink and Sandra Addink-Berendsen will also become, respectively, chair and vice-chair of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V.
