The collection began for Jerry in the eighth grade… then 40 years later he began to record his works on a tape recorder while driving to his clients’ offices. Over the years these were converted to typewritten form by his secretary … after accumulating 12 three ring binders full of paper versions, he began to convert them to digital format while retiring from his health care accounting and consulting practice. This resulted in over 3,000 pages and 320,000 words in the five Wonders of the World book collection. 
 
Mr. Rhoads unconventional rhyme scheme is certainly a breath of fresh air. He can rhythmically create a flow, making the read very enjoyable and interesting. A warning though, the poems herein can be quite a challenge for people who have just started exploring poetry. However, the love for the art and allowing more time to let the message resonate will surely bring a blissful feeling for the heart, soul and mind.
 
“The Eleventh Wonder of the World” is certainly a unique book. Mr. Rhoads has infused a subtle number of subliminal messages within the poems. However, comprehending these messages will surely bring a deeper understanding of the fundamental nature of reality, the relationship between mind and matter, substance and attribute, potentiality and actuality. It is also a gateway into the philosophy of metaphysics.
