Determination Is The Escape To Succeed

The novel reveals the main character, Joseph, who came from a family of challenges and difficulties. This is a story of determination and how he overcomes the odds to step up in life. Joseph had limited resources and had to work his way up. He needed to be resourceful and requires a lot of patience, not to mention being very persistent. Not born with a silver spoon, he managed and excelled in his education despite the difficulties he endured during his early days as a student in both high school and college. The book also depicts the details of his life both at home and in school. Not only it will provide an insight into Joseph’s earlier years, but it also gives lessons of reality in dealing with poverty during that period. Either way, he was able to pull off what he needed to do.
 
High School education was not easy and was limited. Only well-off families can have comfortable admittance and privilege. It did not stop him from the limitations he had when attending high school. Against all odds, he graduated with flying colors regardless of the circumstances. Applying the same life principles and got admitted to one of the U.S. colleges. After graduating from college in the US, he went back to Nigeria and reunited with his family business. Unfortunately, he never got the kind of support needed to continue with the business. Like most family businesses in Nigeria, that lack the target goals and failed, the novel reveals the difficulties that most teachers encountered in American schools, especially with a specific reference to substitute teachers in public schools. The book also depicts the marriages in Nigeria with specific reference to Osina Town. There is a saying that goes, “Failing in any endeavor is not important. What is important, is the determination to succeed.”
 
This novel can boost and motivate any aspiring entrepreneur or anyone who has the determination to succeed.

About the Author
Joseph was born in Obinugbo Akpaka N’ezeala Ofeeke Osina, Ideato Local Government Area (LGA), Imo State, Nigeria on June 7, 1942. He grew up in a polygamous family where his mother was the first of three wives. He was the fifth male child of eight children from the same mother. He was born in an environment where infant mortality was pandemic. He had a precarious childhood though without known diagnosed disease. But for great care from his parents and divine intervention, his survival could have not happened. Joseph lost his father when he was about five years old and his mother at twelve. He was the last of his five brothers to start attending school, but he moved farther academically than any. His brothers encouraged him in his bid to escape from the early challenges of his life including getting good education.
