One of the most famous stereotypes against a woman is that they are hard to understand. They seem very complicated and always say the opposite of what they truly want. Some may even consider them as rocket science for an orchestra and music sheet for NASA; which is very unfair for them. Unlike men, women can be very softhearted, and sometimes, they find it hard to express what they want to say for fear of hurting a person. They are also hardwired to be comforting and as their natural defense mechanism, they will tell you what would end an argument instead of saying what they feel.
However, Peggy Warren who has an affinity with painting and writing, opens her heart up in her book, “Very Much a Woman’s Book” to give us a clearer view of how a woman’s thoughts work.
In this book, she creatively shares the thoughts and feelings of women that sometimes don’t find their way to the mouth. Her heartfelt interpretation of these feelings through words became a compilation of poems and prose woven with raw emotion and sincerity. It opens up an avenue for any reader to fully comprehend the thoughts of a woman. With passion evident in her concise poems, she effectively crosses her message and invokes emotion.
Peggy continues to add more to this collection. These are groanings of her heart that she had gathered over the years. She previously sold 20,000 copies and had received positive feedback from people who had read it. What started as a gift for a friend, had become this masterpiece. It even received a review from Dallas Morning News saying: “Her poems are pearls dropped into our day, inviting self-knowledge, meditation, and peace.”
The book is indeed done in a very artistic way. She also included subtle but brilliant illustrations that helped bring out the thought and the message of each poem.
