Air France supports the association "PERSONN’AILES" in the fight against AIDS

WEBWIRE

December 1st, World AIDS Day, is an opportunity for Air France to remind everyone of its commitment by raising awareness via the actions of its LGBT association, PERSONN’AILES, and to once again support its initiatives.

Every December 1st is marked by a red ribbon, the universal symbol of awareness and support for people living with HIV. Launched in 2017 by Air France, the company is once again organizing a Red Ribbon event this December.

On the schedule this year:

  • Air France staff who wish will be wearing the “Red Ribbon” badge on their uniform from 1 to 17 December 2020,
  • Special “Red Ribbon” flights on 17 December to Pointe-ŕ-Pitre. On board, flyers presenting the “Red Ribbon” actions will be handed out to passengers. There will also be a sale of goodies for the benefit of the association PERSONN’AILES.
  • The association AIDES, supported by PERSONN’AILES, is launching an online kitty on December 1st, the proceeds of which will help to finance emergency actions, mainly in the Caribbean, where HIV is on the rise. The inauguration of an AIDES branch in Guadeloupe will take place on December 18th in Pointe-ŕ-Pitre.

Air France, aware of its social and societal responsibility, is reaffirming its commitment to the fight against HIV. On this occasion, Air France CEO Anne Rigail and Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith took part in the “Red Ribbon” event alongside customers and staff to show their support for PERSONN’AILES and World AIDS Day.

About the association PERSONN’AILES

Set up in 2001, Personn’Ailes, is the first LGBT and gay friendly association of a French airline. It aims to promote the acceptance of sexual orientation and gender identity within the company and its subsidiaries and supports those who may be concerned, within the company, by alleged discrimination because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Personn’Ailes is also involved in the prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections. What brings us together is our vision of “living together better” and being able to travel “in a world of broader ideas”.
