Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale update features new casual mode that caters those virtual chefs who’d like to take a break from the demands of a wild kitchen and be a bit more creative in their menu offerings

“Our players have had great fun whipping up meals in a frenzy with their friends to feed a hungry forest -- but we’ve also heard the demand for a more relaxed, slower-paced mode that could help introduce friends and younger players to Cook-Out for the first time,” said the game’s producer, Gustav Stenmark. “Today’s free update is our way of delivering on that request; consider it a stocking stuffer from the friendly cooks in the Resolution Games kitchen.”

Ho-ho-hold the lettuce and pass the turkey and mashed potatoes! Resolution Games (Blaston, Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs, Bait!, and other hit VR titles) has been cooking up something scrumptious in Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale that players’ tummies have been rumbling for: a new casual mode that caters those virtual chefs who’d like to take a break from the demands of a wild kitchen and be a bit more creative in their menu offerings without the high pressure of the game’s hectic storyline. Available beginning today as a free update in the Oculus Store (trailer here), Cook-Out’s holiday update will also feature a visit from Santa and his reindeer pals, who could use your help to fill their bellies during a quick break from their journey.

During the holiday season, this new mode will feature all the holiday trimmings:

  1. New Ingredients: What would the holidays be without turkey, candy canes, mashed potatoes, and a gingerbread house?
  2. New Characters: Santa knows how to keep warm (he’s a Polar Bear, after all), and so do his reindeer in their tacky Christmas sweaters
  3. New Environment: Your favorite village will feature snow, decorations, and more to bring the holidays to life -- including a few indoor decorations in your own kitchen
  4. Surprises: If you’ve been really good this year, Santa just might leave a new cleaver, cutting board, or fridge under your tree. And if you look carefully, there might even be some sandwich recipes for you to discover!

When the holidays are over and Santa heads back to the North Pole, Cook-Out’s new casual mode will be sure to stick around -- and you may even see some new characters pop their heads in at that time.

Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale is now available for the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift for a purchase price of $19.99. To learn more, including where to download Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale, please visit https://www.resolutiongames.com/cookout.
