The Vietnam War was one of the most tragic conflicts that the American people found themselves in. For such battles raged for another nation, the count of their casualties was beyond the count of sorrow. Numerous battalions fell on soiled lands, resources wasted on irrevocable deaths, and anguish befell on both sides. Yet, this book is not the story of those who fought in Vietnam. Out-of-Country: The Untold Story of the Vietnam War is a confession for those who were stationed outside Vietnam where even distance could not deter the insanity of it all.

Ron Aigotti is unforgiving in his revelation of how the Vietnam war concluded for those garrisoned out-of-country, or outside Vietnam. Many stories have covered the brutality of the events occurring on the Vietnam lands, but not so much has been shared about those externally deployed during such times. In short and concise tales, Aigotti is able to emphasize the personal, psychological, emotional, and political grapples underwent by the families of and the very soldiers who so many would say have escaped the violence in Vietnam.

The book consists of short stories, and each narrative takes into accounts the deepest pain and sorrows of those involved. From the mouth of a medical doctor who saw it all, Aigotti is honest in his endeavor to depict what truly happened during the conclusive years of the conflict.

Are you willing to understand a veteran army’s life? From the pages of Aigotti’s tales, you will perceive the profound struggles of the men and women who are forever scarred by the cruelty and savagery of the Vietnam War.
