LOS ANGELES — Author Beverly Hoffman Erickson shares personal accounts that follow her fascination with the American actor Gardner Mckay in her nostalgic memoir, “Gardner Mckay: Is My Adventures in Paradise.”

“Gardner Mckay: Is My Adventures in Paradise” tells a true story of a young girl’s devotion to one of the well-loved TV personalities of the 1960s. Taken from the pages of her teenage diary, the book narrates of young Beverly’s wonderment and feelings of being star struck by Gardner Mckay’s presence after seeing him in person. From ages 10 through 18, the author unfailingly documents fond memories of dramatic events she had experienced in different seasons of the year — spring, summer, fall and, most of all, the season of love.

Years later, after her idol’s passing in 2001, Beverly dug up her diary and reproduced it to the memoir it is today. The author stated that the message of her book is “follow the person you are most fond of and remember the feelings when you were a tender age.”

Beverly Hoffman Erickson was born and raised in the Midwest, in South Bend, Indiana. She has since been to different places, including Florida, California and South Carolina. Beverly started writing her first stories in the 4th grade at the age of nine. She has a large imagination, and she gets her ideas from dreams and everyday life. She also likes animals, especially tropical birds. The author encourages her readers to keep their imagination alive and fun as well as to enjoy life and living the dream. Her goal is for her book to become a movie to honor the talented Gardner McKay and his family.
