Helium Announces Partnership with Smart Mimic to Offer Security Solutions and COVID-19 Contact Tracing via Nationwide IoT Network

San Francisco, September 2, 2020  — Helium, the company behind one of the world’s first peer-to-peer wireless networks, today announced a partnership with leading Internet of Things (IoT) device manufacturer Smart Mimic. Through this partnership, the two companies will enable a new generation of wireless security and contact tracing, tracking and monitoring devices to help protect precious things, people and mitigate COVID-19 risk.
 
Smart Mimic’s MimicGO line of consumer products, alarm and portable in-room and security-on-the-go devices, as well as MimicS, an enterprise solution dedicated for COVID contact tracking and tracing, are LoRa-based, low power, wireless and compact, and can be used anywhere— ideal for any smart monitoring situation. Upon detecting a change in status, the device activates an alarm, as well as a real-time notification to a smartphone, to discourage theft or tampering with monitored locations.
