“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6 NLT)

The author of the spiritual memoir “Our Miracle After Midnight” (Covenant Books; 2019) Linda Seay offers words of spiritual comfort and encouragement in a time everyone is affected and afflicted globally. Everyone needs to look to God and Scripture to increase their faith.

“For by the grace [of God] given to me I say to everyone of you not to think more highly of himself [and of his importance and ability] than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith [and a purpose designed for service].” (Romans 12:3 AMP)

“God gives to every person a measure of faith. It is up to the person to use and develop their faith (Romans 12:3),” the author said. “More faith comes to us by hearing the word of God.”

She added: “Faith, the size of a mustard seed, can move mountains. I have learned that God’s will, which is His Word, is not automatic. We must do our part. God requires our faith. Scripture tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6 NLT).”

The author draws from her experience during the hospitalization of her son, who was caught in a terrible road accident in Charleston on October 3, 2013.

“Because our pastor had taught us how, from Scripture, how to walk by faith, and how to release faith, my husband and knew what to do. God is faithful. The Word of God that I had confessed over and over was in me, and that is what Holy Spirit brought back to my remembrance, at the right time. I had not planned to say what I said when we got that call from the policewoman that night at 12:57 A.M.

“Holy Spirit brought to my mind these words to pray, ‘Father, if you can raise a dead stinking man, you can raise our son up. Father, we need a miracle.’ God is real and His Word is true. It is time to believe God and believe his word.

“Just like on that night, we had no other hope and no one else to call on to help us. This season that we are in now, in which everyone is affected globally, it is time to turn to God for His help. There is no one that can help us, through this season that we are in. Just like we called on God for our miracle, you can call on God to help you. He will answer you and help you when you call. God will do what only he can do, which is the supernatural.”

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”  (Matthew 17:20 KJV)

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” (Matthew 17:20 NLT)

Seay talks about the kind of faith everyone should have: “We must have the God kind of faith, that will let NOTHING stand between our faith in Him and His Promise (Word) to us. Not fears, not negative thoughts, not current situations, not past experiences, not the doubts and negativity of others, and not even the length of time it takes to manifest. When we remain in faith, don’t be surprised when suddenly ‘there it is’ (not just what you’ve been believing for, but exceedingly, abundantly above what you thought or imagined according to the power at work in us). God is always faithful.” (Mark 11:22; Joshua 1:8; Ephesians 3:20)”
