GE Hitachi Joins Equal by 30 Campaign

GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) today announced that it has signed onto Equal by 30, a campaign devoted to equal pay, equal leadership and equal opportunities for women in the clean energy sector by 2030.

“GE Hitachi is proud to sign onto the Equal by 30 Campaign and commit to action to achieve gender equality in the workplace,” said Jay Wileman, GEH President & CEO. “We are committed to increasing the diversity of our teams by striving for a representation of women and minorities that reflects the communities around us.”

As part of its commitment to increasing diversity in the workplace GEH will focus on several areas including recruiting, training and employee resource groups.

“In pledging to embrace the Equal by 30 principles, we will further our culture, not just to allow for different perspectives, but to expect them,” said Darion Jeralds, GEH Chief Diversity Officer.

The Equal by 30 Campaign is part of the Clean Energy, Education and Empowerment (C3E) International Initiative which works to advance the participation of women in the clean energy transition and close the gender gap. It is a joint Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and International Energy Agency (IEA) initiative.

A total of 12 nations and more than 150 private and public sector organizations have signed onto the campaign.
