Jan Jones, Respected Leader in the Hospice Care Movement, Announces Her Retirement

Jan Jones, RN, BSN, Chief Executive Officer of The Elizabeth Hospice and Chief Executive Officer of California Hospice Network, announced her retirement. For more than four decades, she was at the forefront of the hospice and palliative care movement and an active participant on the state and national levels of hospice organizations and in government arenas.
 
Ms. Jones served as Chief Executive Officer of The Elizabeth Hospice, a leading provider of hospice care, palliative care and grief support in San Diego County and Southwest Riverside County, from 2012 to 2020. In this role, she oversaw a team of clinical and administrative leaders that developed a dedicated pediatric hospice/palliative care program, established the most comprehensive offering of children’s bereavement services in San Diego County, created an adult palliative care program, and broadened the organization’s service area from North County to San Diego County and Southwest Riverside County.

During her retirement, Ms. Jones will remain connected to the health care industry by serving on the Board of Directors for The Joint Commission Advisory Council, California Hospice and Palliative Care Association (CHAPCA), Escondido Rotary as well as the Palomar Home Health Advisory Board.
