Denon® Unveils the AVR-X3400H AV Receiver

Renowned AVR Manufacturer Combines Support for the Latest Audio and Video Formats with Advanced Set-Up Controls, HEOS Multi-room Streaming and Amazon Alexa’s AV Gear Skill

VISTA, Calif. – WEBWIRE

Denon®, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment products, builds on the appeal of its Network AV Receiver range with the introduction of a fully-loaded fifth generation model, the AVR-X3400H, one of the most advanced receivers available. The AVR-X3400H is a 7.2-channel design, with fully discrete amplifier technology allowing it to deliver 105W from each of its seven channels for powerful, precise and detailed sound from music and movies alike.

The new receiver supports the latest audio and video formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, 4K Ultra HD with HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Dolby Vision for futuristic viewing and listening. In addition, the AVR-X3400H features HEOS multi-room wireless music streaming, allowing it to combine with other HEOS products to create a comprehensive home entertainment system, all under app control. For ultimate setup control, the AVR-X3400H features high-precision Audyssey MultEQ XT32 setup and optimization, enabling users to measure and elevate the home theater environment to promote optimal speaker placement and sound quality. It is also compatible with the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app, allowing the user even more control of the sound set-up than ever before.

In addition to the introduction of the AVR-X3400H, Denon is announcing that its HEOS-enabled AVRs, including the recently launched AVR-X1400H and AVR-X2400H, will support Amazon Alexa’s latest Smart Home Skill for Entertainment Devices. This new Alexa skill enables voice commands to control a range of functions on Denon AVRs natively, including volume control, transport control, mute, next track and external input switching. The Alexa Smart Home Skill for Entertainment Devices firmware update will be made available for HEOS-enabled Denon AVRs in September 2017.

Easy Setup and Use with Installer-Friendly Features

Despite the AVR-X3400H’s vast array of functionalities, it is simple to set up and use thanks to Denon’s exclusive Setup Assistant, featuring clear on-screen graphics and text that quickly and easily guides users through the setup process. Four ‘Quick Select’ function buttons let the user choose their favorite input sources, remembering preferred audio settings for each source to deliver precisely tailored sound, ultimately optimizing critical system settings for the best possible sound quality.

For those looking to integrate the X3400H with an existing custom installation, the receiver offers an extended range of options, including infrared remote in/out connections, 12V trigger, 7.2-channel preouts, RS-232 connection and Creston Connected compatibility.

Energy-conscious users and installers will find Denon’s advanced ECO Mode, which enables the AVR-X3400H to tailor its power consumption to the way it’s being used, hugely beneficial. By reducing energy use by as much as 50 percent when playing at low levels, ECO Mode can help the entire home theatre run more efficiently.

Top-of-the-Line Audio and Visual Reproduction

With the ultra-precise Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration and set-up system, the AVR-X3400H is compatible with the new Audyssey MultEQ Editor app (available for purchase in the App stores). The suite of Audyssey features also include Audyssey LFC, to allow the user to enjoy powerful bass without annoying neighbors or those in other rooms, and SubEQ HT to simplify the use of dual subwoofers for a smoother, more integrated sub-bass.

The AVR-X3400H is also built to play music to a very high standard, due to the use of a new digital-to-analogue converter block using AKM’s AK4458VN 32bit/8ch D/A converter for all channels.

With eight HDMI inputs, including one conveniently positioned on the front panel, feed a video section supporting Full 4K Ultra HD, HDCP 2.2, HDR, BT.2020, Wide Color Gamut and 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, allowing the connection of all the latest devices such as game consoles, Blu-ray players or streaming set-top-boxes. It is even ready for Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) passthrough, and has an advanced video processor to upscale existing lower resolution video to true 4K, complete with analogue to HDMI conversion and Full Rate 4K Scaling.

The AVR-X3400H will also gain eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) capability via a forthcoming firmware update, enabling it to receive object-based audio, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, over HDMI from TV apps.

Advanced Networking Capabilities

As with all Denon network receivers, the AVR-X3400H can play music from both network and Internet sources. With the HEOS integration, it can share content across multiple zones to a wide range of other HEOS speakers and HEOS-equipped components.

As well as wireless Bluetooth®, the AVR-X3400H has full network connectivity via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Twin antennae and dual-band support guarantee a strong network signal even in crowded Wi-Fi environments, and once connected, the AVR-X3400H opens up unlimited music sources and playback options. These include Apple AirPlay®, streaming from network attached storage devices (NAS), Internet Radio and a wide range of streaming services including Pandora®, Spotify®, Amazon Prime Music, iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, SoundCloud®, Tidal, Napster or Deezer (availability differs by area, subscription may be required). High-resolution audio files including FLAC, ALAC or DSD (even up to 5.6MHz) are also supported and played back in impeccable quality.

Advanced wireless networking also pairs with the AVR-X3400H’s HEOS integration, enabling both networked stored music and online services to be instantly shared with HEOS speakers and other HEOS-enabled devices around the house, creating a complete, expandable multi-room music system. Using the free HEOS app, users can easily control their entire whole-home audio system from any room in the house.
