The San Sebastian Festival is now receiving submissions for WIP Europa

The deadline for submissions for the new work in progress emerging as an evolution of Global in Progress is July 1

WEBWIRE

The San Sebastian Festival opens its call for submissions for WIP Europa, an evolution of the Glocal in Progress programme, which will now present a maximum of six European films instead of the former three. The submission period will remain open until July 1.

After three editions, Glocal in Progress now becomes WIP Europa, an endeavour not only focussing on films shot in non-hegemonic languages, but which is also open to all films with a majority of European production. The terms and conditions however establish that it will be an advantage if they are first or second works by their filmmakers or if they are filmed in non-hegemonic languages.

The San Sebastian Festival will select up to a maximum of six European productions for their presentation to distributors, sales agents and producers participating in the Festival with a view to favouring their international dissemination. WIP Europa will run on September 21, 22 and 23, on the same dates as WIP Latam and the IX Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum.

With the reorientation of WIP Europa, the San Sebastian Festival reinforces its engagement with creation and the industry, lending shape with WIP Latam and the Europe-Latin America Film Festival to a reference platform for the coming together between both film industries.

AWARDS

The WIP Europa Industry Award is granted by the companies Ad Hoc Studios, BTeam Pictures, Deluxe Spain, Dolby Iberia, Laserfilm Cine y Video, Nephilim Producciones and No Problem Sonido. The prize consists of the post-production of a film until obtaining a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) subtitled in English and Spanish and its distribution in Spain.

The WIP Europa Award consists of 10,000 euros for the majority producer of the same film as wins the WIP Europa Industry Award.
