Recognizing the importance of our managers through COVID-19


We are pleased to have launched two new employee learning modules designed to support our managers during the coronavirus pandemic—Online Management Essentials and Leading Through Crisis.

Our Talent Development Team have been looking for new ways to adapt learning to meet the evolving needs of the business, and support OUP managers through this challenging time. We recognize that managers are playing a critical role during this period of uncertainty and remote working, with greater pressure to respond to team members’ individual circumstances, reassess team priorities, and reimagine the road ahead for the foreseeable future.

Manager often need to juggle many priorities, so when looking for information or inspiration they need resources that are practical, relevant, and easy to find and digest. With this in mind, both the new learning modules offer a wide variety of bite-sized content, organized into clear sections to make them easy to navigate.

The introduction of these new learning tools also supports our employee development strategy, which emphasizes a quick and agile response to the emerging learning needs of our people, and provides digital resources and experiences that aim to be genuinely useful and address challenges and concerns.

The launch of the modules was well-received, with staff feeding back that the resources are extremely useful and they would recommend them to someone else. One employee commented: ‘I have been at OUP for almost five years, and in the past 12 months I have seen a significant and overwhelming improvement in the training materials for our staff. I think it’s great!’
