The New call for Projects of the Venice Gap-Financing Market
The call is aimed at international projects of fiction and documentary films, and VR Immersive Stories. Projects may be submitted until 15 May.
VENICE GAP-FINANCING MARKET
La Biennale di Venezia announces the new call for the Venice Gap-Financing Market that opens today, Monday 17th February 2020, launched on the website (call open through 15th May 2020).
The seventh Venice Gap-Financing Market will be held from September 4th to 6th, 2020, as part of the Venice Production Bridge at the 77th Venice International Film Festival (2-12 September 2020) directed by Alberto Barbera.
The Venice Gap-Financing Market is a platform for selected projects, that aims to support European and international producers in securing full funding for their projects (fiction, documentaries and VR Immersive Story projects) through one-to-one meetings with professionals in the field (producers, sales agents, distributors, financiers, broadcasters and funds). All the invited professionals are decision-makers.
The call is open to European and international projects, in the following categories:
- Film and Documentaries: up to 27/33 projects for feature films and narrative or creative documentaries, including 3 Biennale College Cinema projects, will be selected from all around the world. There are no limitations on genre, and animation films are welcome.
- VR Immersive Stories: up to 10/12 VR projects will be selected from all around the world.
During the 3-day event (4 – 6 September 2020), the 7th Venice Gap-Financing Market will present up to 45 European and international projects, along with the VR projects developed through the Biennale College Cinema – Virtual Reality.
