FrieslandCampina dairy farmers generate a record amount of sustainable energy

WEBWIRE

Many FrieslandCampina member dairy farmers already generate sustainable energy by solar panels, windmills or biomass. In the first quarter of 2020, the member dairy farmers generated a record amount of sustainable energy.

In total, more than 167 GWh of green electricity was generated, which is good for the annual consumption of more than 223,000 Dutch households. And even better, this is 132% of the electricity consumption of the Dutch Supply Chain during this period. A very impressive achievement! Do you want to see the real-time generation? Want to know more about how are farmers are dealing with solar panels and windmills? One of the member dairy farms who are progressive in the field of wind and solar energy is the Treure family in Streefkerk. Last year Linda Groot Wassink, Global Sustainability Project Manager, has visited them to vlog with them about their effort on sustainable energy.
