Nike Air Cross Trainer 3 Low

Before “athleisure” and “dad shoe” joined our everyday vernacular, the fitness boom of the 1980s birthed the idea of the cross trainer. An unintended, but swiftly realized, product of those arresting designs was a versatile adoption by the era’s musical subcultures. 

Introduced in 1990, the Air Cross Trainer 3 Low extends aesthetic cues from the Air Trainer SC High. It was defined by a subtle upper color scheme, accented by pops of color on the tongue and midsole — a characteristic that remains in its 2020 version. This shoe maintains a subdued tech vibe suitable for a range of daily activities.
