These footballers have dominated the football world for years. Lionel Messi has scored 689 goals throughout his incredible football career, while Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a massive 725 goals in his epic career.
 
Each of these footballers contributed 1.1 million dollars to support the war against covid19. These funds will be shared between two hospitals in Lisbon and Porto.

Spain has over 102,000 cases so far and is approaching 10,000 deaths which has put their healthcare center under tremendous pressure. La Liga has been suspended indefinitely and so Messi & Ronaldo have stepped up with a donation to help hospitals in Lisbon & Porto. 

Bill Gates

The American software developer and the co-founder of Microsoft corporation donated a substantial 100 million dollars relief towards this pandemic. Twenty million dollars of the fund will go towards the World Health Organization and the U.S Center for Disease Control.

He donated intending to improve detection, containment, and the treatment of the global outbreak. Another 20 million dollars is aimed at helping at-risk populations like Africa and Asia, which are likely to be overwhelmed by the Covid19 hit. Sixty million dollars will then go to vaccine development, improved diagnostics, and treatment. Gates did a TED Talk in 2015 about Pandemics and stated that we’re not ready then, and wanted us to increase our preparation for what we’re currently experiencing. Now with his philanthropy we hope others will take note.  

Rihanna

The famous singer and actor are among the People Making Donations During COVID-19. She made a five-million-dollar donation to the coronavirus relief.
 
Rihanna went further to donate PPES to the most affected state in the United States, New York. The masks and gloves were granted in the effort to curb the spread of the highly contagious virus in New York City.
 
The singer believes that the world can fight this pandemic together, and every little contribution can bring change.

Jack Ma and Alibaba Foundation

The Chinese business magnate, investor, and politician, together with Alibaba Foundation, donated 1.5 million laboratory diagnostic kits and tons of prevention commodities to support African countries to fight against the coronavirus outbreak.

The Ethiopian government received the equipment. This government will distribute 20,000 test kits, 100,000 medical masks, and 1000 protective suits to every African union member state when needed.

All over the world entrepreneurs, entertainers, and corporations are doing their part to help. In the Middle East, Khurram Shroff has donated funds to help fast track and develop an affordable vaccine; while in Puerto Rico, businessman Phillip Peikos has donated to a bilingual academy that has come up short of funds for every day necessities until Peikos came to the rescue.
