A Spiritual Tale

The story of God is a Love story, a Spiritual story, or as a fisherman might say, “A Spiritual Tale.”  But for many of us, it’s only in times of grief that we seek out and are ready to hear this Tale.
 
In “Fishing Buddies: A Spiritual Tale,” author Thomas R. Martin tells the story of a young man – Paul – who’s been walking in darkness ever since the death of his mother at a young age.  His grief deepens later in life, with the death of his best friend Peter.  Paul returns home from Peter’s funeral, overcome with grief, and falls asleep on his bed, thinking back to the day they had met the Old Man by the river, and all the seeds he had planted within them so long ago.  Paul awakens and heads to the river, searching for answers.  He finds Bill, another one of his friends, already fishing in their favorite hole.  Little does either of them know the plans the Light has in store for revealing Itself to both of them.
 
This novel by Thomas R. Martin aims to teach us about the Spirit we are all a part of, the Spirit whom we live and move in.  He hopes his books are able to help the reader see God in new ways – in ways of the heart, for we’ll never see the Truth using our physical senses.

About the Author      
 
Thomas R. Martin is a retired commercial airline captain and currently an author.  Flying had always been his dream, but even as a young boy, Thomas had a passion and fascination with God and His creation.  Questions like, “Who is God?  Why are we here?  How am I related to Him?” played over and over in his head.  Questions led to answers, which led to more questions and more answers.  The ideas played over in Thomas’s head, like a record skipping, and the only way he could find any relief was to put them down on paper.  And it was through this release of ideas to the page that put Thomas on the path of becoming an author. 
 
Thomas is also the author of “Love and Spirit, A New Set Of Eyes.”  He and his high school sweetheart live on a lake in northern Minnesota.
