Learn the Value of Telling the Truth in Carol Piccone’s Book
Some of the most essential, well said, and superbly told advice can be found in children’s books. The simple lessons, always, always apply even long after one has graduated to chapter books. Carol Piccone’s “Dolly’s World: Growing Up with Dolly-Dolly’s Surprise” is one book that teaches readers lessons about growing up.
It follows a girl named Dolly, who embarks on a journey towards adulthood. As a first in a series of forthcoming books about learning, Dolly learns a valuable lesson that lying has its damaging effects. More importantly, she gains an understanding that society is changing; thus, it is crucial that she follows the correct path going forward.
Perhaps this book has one of the bravest and boldest characters of all children’s literature. Through the snappy text and lighthearted illustrations, the author does a good job of simplifying the tale of the girl who acquires the value of telling the truth.
The book, as a whole, applies to elementary readers, adult ones, and even beyond.
