“Pitus Peston and the Gods of Oman:” Claiming Fortune

A young boy, a farmer’s son, embarks on an adventure of a lifetime fearlessly pursuing his dreams with all his might and steadfastly staying true to what he believes despite the scorns of society.

Miami, FL – WEBWIRE

In the current age, man has progressed and unconventional ideas are allowed to be viewed as an opportunity to evolve. But what of the situation more than two hundred years ago? People were not as open-minded then, and the thought of radical change scared them into rejecting anything that veered off the path of an established status quo.

Everett Hunt’s book centers around Pitus Peston, an eighteen-year-old boy born to succeed his father on the small family farm. He had a talent for learning languages, but what was that in an era of scarce opportunity. His desire to envision a greater world remained trapped in his heart beating unceasingly against the walls until he stumbled upon that greater world. Is this a coincidence or a work of fate?

“Pitus Peston and the Gods of Oman” brings its reader to the edge of his seat as he joins the protagonist on his journey of uncovering his destiny. Pitus unravels the skein of mystery to trails that will lead him to the answers of his blasphemous questions while boldly overcoming the prejudice and scorn of the people around him. An environment of ignorance has wasted the lives of many a brilliant Einstein in the cotton fields, but he is about to change that for himself. He will succeed against these odds and claim his fate.

Everett Hunt shows us that there is no need to conform with society. Follow what you hold true in your heart, like Pitus in “Pitus Peston and the Gods of Oman.”

About the Author:

Everett Hunt, the creator of Pitus Peston and his adventures, is 67 and lives in Castile, NY with his wife Sally, at the edge of Letchworth State Park. His day job is staff pharmacist at a local hospital, now retired from full time, working part time as needed (healthcare professionals seldom actually retire, he has noticed). Hunt began his writing twenty five years ago, when out of boredom, he thought about who he would be and what he would do if he could fashion the world any way he wanted. Hunt thought of a smart, courageous, bold, young man, capable of being a bad-ass-when-occasion-called-for-it sort of a guy, who was still kind, generous, and principled. There are five full length novels, each a kind of sequel to the former, showing the evolution of Peston from an adolescent terrestrial to a mature experienced cosmic adventurer.
