“The Madhouse Projects” (ReadersMagnet; 2019) by prolific author Rick Badman is one of the many sci-fi books that will be exhibited at the 2020 BookExpo New Title Showcase. Organized by the Combined Book Exhibit (CBE) and Reed Exhibitions, the book trade fair will take place from July 22 to 26, 2020 at the Javits Center, New York City.

The New Title Showcase provides new and self-published authors the opportunity to exhibit at the BookExpo. Exhibiting at the BookExpo New Title Showcase helps self-published authors like Rick Badman increase their brand awareness, achieve high visibility, and gain more traffic. Authors also get the chance to promote themselves and their works through autographing sessions.

“The Madhouse Projects” tells the story of automotive engineer Dick Thurman who is dismissed from university and begins work at the Madhouse, an underground research and development installation in Arizona. Dick builds flywheel-powered electric cars, one of which he drives to victory at the 2037 Indy 500.

Dick, his wife Kate, and other characters in the book work on various projects that make the world a better place despite opposition from corporations, institutions, and criminals. Karen develops a virtual reality program, which extracts information out of a South American drug lord that nails people with drug charges. She also develops a micro machine system that allows people to experience good mind trips.

In “The Madhouse Projects,” readers will see a future where technology is maximized to do extraordinary things and change lives for the better, instead of plunging the world into a future of doom and destruction. The novel gives readers a glimpse at what be possible within their lifetime if enough people are determined to make the incredible reality.
