Catch the Exhibit for Joab Stieglitz’s Lovecraftian Pulp Adventure “The Old Man’s Request” at the L.A. Times Festival of Books

“The Old Man’s Request” (Rantings of a Wandering Mind; 2018) by Joab Stieglitz is one of the many thrillers that will be exhibited will be exhibited at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2020 on April 18-19, 2020 at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA.
 
The Festival of Books was first held in 1996 and since then has become an essential part of Los Angeles’ cultural and educational scene. The annual, free public festival attracts approximately 150,000 visitors. The event holds author panels, book signing sessions, storytelling, musical performances, culinary classes, and more. Aside from books, new and original works of art and photography will also be on display.
 
Stieglitz’s H.P. Lovecraft-inspired supernatural thriller “The Old Man’s Request” will be exhibited by ReadersMagnet at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
 
The dying Jason Longborough, a trustee of Reister University, summons Russian anthropologist Anna Rykov, Doctor Harry Lamb, and Father Sean O’Malley to his deathbed to seek their help in destroying a certain evil entity. Fifty years ago, a group of college friends, Jason among them, dabbled in the occult and, in the process, released an evil creature on the world. Being indebted to the ailing trustee for their positions, the three newcomers work together to fulfill the request of the dying man.

Joab Stieglitz was born and raised in Warren, New Jersey. He is an application consultant for a software company. He has also worked as a software trainer, network engineer, project manager, and technical writer over his 30-year career. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia. Joab is an avid tabletop RPG player and game master of horror, espionage, fantasy, and science fiction genres, including Savage Worlds, Call of Cthulhu, Lamentations of the Flame Princess, GUMSHOE, and Pathfinder, to name a few. The other books in the Utgarda Series are “The Missing Medium,” “The Other Realm,” and “The Hunter in the Shadows.”
