Auto Collectors Garage, owner of the famed Maserati Birdcage Tipo 61, #2459, announced today that the car has closed out its European tour and returned to its U.S. home in Houston, Texas.

The stunning red Maserati Birdcage Tipo 61, #2459 was built for road racing pioneer Briggs Cunningham in 1960. Its storied history includes many successful races and accomplished drivers. One of only 22 Birdcages ever produced, this meticulously restored vehicle is the most documented in history.

Among other prestigious stops, the 2019 European tour included showcases at Salon Privé Classic Car Show, one of the longest-running and most established automotive events in the U.K., and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the “largest motoring garden party in the world,” located just outside London. The vehicle as also been seen at the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance as well as in the United States at Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance in Houston and Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in Florida.
