Coca Cola European Partners awarded ‘double A’ by Climate Disclosure Project for climate change and water security

CCEP has been included on the prestigious ‘A List’ in corporate sustainability for both climate change and water security; key environmental themes covered by global environmental impact non-profit CDP.  

In being one of only 37 companies globally to be awarded a double CDP A-list position for both Climate and Water in 2019 and one of three which has achieved this transformative position for four consecutive years, this represents a clear direction of travel, with sustainability at the core of the business strategy.

Joe Franses, Vice President, Sustainability at CCEP said:

“As with our recent A-list position on Climate, the threshold for membership has increased significantly for 2019, and this represents an important recognition for our on-going commitment to water stewardship.

“Our work to identify areas of local water stress, together with our work to understand water-related risks at a local level has been critical in helping us to achieve this position. We will continue to work on a strategy that adopts a context-based approach to water security, and will require additional focus on local areas which are most at risk from water stress.”

CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognised as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency.
