“The Adventures of Ernistine” (Newman Springs; 2018) by Cynthia Olanin tells about life from the perspective of Ernistine, a young girl with red hair and green eyes and lives in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Ernistine has a three-year-old brother named Daniel. She is best friends with Sasha, who has yellow hair and blue eyes and lives next door to her. Ernistine shares her adventures and discoveries in different chapters, including her meeting with Santa Claus, going places and learning things for the first time. Ernistine’s adventures and new discovers are sure to bring smiles and a few chuckles to readers, young and old alike.

About the Author
Cynthia E. Olanin is a 1968 graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School and 1969 graduate of Reading Muhlenberg Vo Tech School program of Practical Nursing. She worked in the medical field first as a volunteer “candy striper” from the ages of 13 to 18, and then as a nurse from 1970 until she retired in January 2018.
