TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards 2020 by iF: The results are in!

Judges from Germany, Japan, and Taiwan have gathered at Taipei Nangang Exhibition center, and selected 40 outstanding winners. Among them, seven most exceptional products are granted with a special honor, the TAIPEIC CYCLE gold award 2020. The special award, “Gold Award – Young Enterprise” goes to one of the startup companies established after 1th January 2016. All these outstanding products represent the future trends of the bicycle industry and the highest design innovation latest.

There are nearly 140 entries from all over the world participated in this year’s TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards. Among them, the strongest categories were parts and components, and cycling accessories. Competition categories also included complete bicycles, e-bikes and drive units, and the newly established category of smart cycling services this year.

Press Conference & Awards Ceremony: 26 February 2020

All winners will be announced (except the gold winners) on 26 February 2020 at a press conference and awards ceremony – at Avenue Taipei | work + space (No. 92, Sec. 2, Anhe Rd., Da’an Dist., Taipei City, Taiwan).

Gold Award Ceremony and Exhibition: 4 March 2020

The TAIPEIC CYCLE gold award winners 2020 will be unveiled and honored on stage at the opening ceremony of the TAIPEI CYCEL SHOW on 4 March 2020. All award-winning products will be exhibited at the awards zone of the trade fair from 4 to 7 March 2020 and online on the world’s biggest design platform, the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE.

The jury panel includes Yoshiharu Sugawara (GK Design Group, Tokyo/Japan), Norbert Haller (ID berlin, Berlin/German), Georg Todtenbier (CRE8 DESIGN, Taipei/Taiwan), Johann Geiger (Dayeh University, Changhua County/Taiwan), Chung-Shih Sun (Gearlab Co, Ltd., Taipei City/Taiwan), Marcus Solomon (XD Automotive and Industrial Design, Taipei/Taiwan) and Francois Liang (Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center, Taichung/Taiwan).

About TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards by iF

TAIPEI CYCLE show, a well-reputed event within the bicycle industry, was established in 1988. Over 30 years, the show has brought together manufacturing and R&D resources, as well as established Taiwan’s leading position in the global bicycle industry. From 2012, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Taiwan Bicycle Association commissioned iF DESIGN ASIA Ltd. to organize the TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards. So far, it has been held for eight editions, establishing a design and creativity interaction and exhibition platform for the global bicycle industry. In recent years, the event has integrated emerging fields such as cloud big data, smart IoT, and the aesthetics of living as competition categories, with the goal of promoting more diversified and consumer-oriented industry applications and development.
