A Closer Look on the Price of Waging War: Nuclear Bombs and Other Alternatives to “End” Pacific War

Yuba City CA, USA – WEBWIRE

The world is ridden with conflict, and human beings are unfortunately unable to put an end to the war. Greed, desire, and selfishness endlessly spark their hearts with the evil, pushing it into the deepest core of hatred and violence. Thus, paying the price of the innocence deaths, impacting the environment catastrophically, and inflicting wounds unhealed despite unending attempts to soothe the piercing ache. The Pacific War involving the United States and the Empire of Japan is one of the tragedies that wreck the world to the core. Clarence “Kip” Vold’s book entitled, “Decision Affirmed,” chronicles such poignant events, revealing insights critical for further understanding the world.

The Pacific War sprung from the incompatibility of the Japanese military expansion in East Asia objectives and the United States’ objectives, where unsuccessful negotiations were carried out. This pushed Japan to attack Pearl Harbor with the goal of crippling the United States military, establishing an impenetrable defensive perimeter that would force the United States to sue for peace. The United States responded by vastly increasing its military capability, for defensive purposes, and to go on an offensive against Japan with the prospect of attaining peace by defeating them. This resulted in the deadly and destructive nuclear bombs hitting Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These lethal weapons were foreseen to be the legitimate key to conclude the long and bitterly fought war and altogether defeating Japan. But not everyone agreed, and questions rose against President Truman’s decision. Is there no other choice to “end” such war that entails lesser consequences? In this book, alternatives are discussed and considered according to morality, legality, and necessity. Eventually, what are the repercussions after the bombing of Japan?

Clarence’s scrutiny on the ramifications of war and its destructive forces exhibits visions essential for unearthing and comprehending its entirety. Intense, powerful, and compelling, the sacrifice every weapon holds at its tip is an eye-opener, transforming readers’ perspective and ultimately nullifying violence.

This unforgettable book shall satiate the hunger for knowledge, ideas, and concepts on the inevitable but amenable war, and everyone is invited to take part in its discussions by studying such read.

Clarence “Kip” Vold was born in Mitchell, South Dakota. He grew up in a farm where his father worked and encouraged his children to work hard and make their dreams a reality. He had always supported Clarence to follow his footsteps and take his place in their farm, but he saw and veered through a different dream, far from farming. He worked as a boom operator—granting him the experience of forty-three combat missions over Thailand and the Gulf of Tonkin. One mission very frightening in retrospect in a KC-135 following a flight of F-4s towards Hanoi during Linebacker II, which at one point, about two miles ahead of a B-52 bomb strike.
