Since it allows us to be face to face with the people who are in charge of the legislation and regulation of the industry, so that we can understand their proposals, clarify doubts and know all relevant information first hand and from the most reliable sources.

The Online Gaming Summit (OGS) Brazil was held this week at the Allianz Parque in São Paulo and turnout was spectacular. The event is designed to give a chance for operators, regulators, authorities and others to come together to discuss the evolving state of the industry and connect to drive future development. On hand this year was the Business Development Director for TV Global Enterprises (TVGE), Fernando Garita.

Latin America is experiencing rapid growth in the gambling industry and one of the key markets set to be most likely be introduced in the near future is Brazil. Many of the current politicians across the country are expected to be re-elected in voting activity taking place before the end of the year, and now is a critical time for the industry to find support among Brazil’s leaders.  Legalization is more than likely going to occur in the very near future, especially since President Jair Bolsonaro has softened his position with regards to the activity.

Garita participated as a representative of TVGE and its largest subsidiary, Betcris. The gambling platform has built a strong reputation across all of Central and South America and is ready to expand into additional markets, including Brazil and Argentina. With a solid reputation already in place in the markets where it operates, receiving approval in the additional jurisdictions won’t be an issue.

Of his appearance during the two-day event, Garita states that this approach to state authorities is very valuable “since it allows us to be face to face with the people who are in charge of the legislation and regulation of the industry, so that we can understand their proposals, clarify doubts and know all relevant information first hand and from the most reliable sources.”

Of the many topics discussed that will fuel tomorrow’s gambling scene were Gambling in Brazil: The Economic Outlook for this new Market; The Regulation of Sports Betting and the legacy for other Gaming Modes; Step by Step of Sports Betting Regulation; Technologies to Guarantee Responsible Gambling and Consumer Protection; and How do the Mechanisms of Control of Gambling and Money Laundering Work in Practice.

“It was a very successful event with many networking opportunities and, above all, was very informative. The presence of Betcris in this event demonstrates our commitment to the Brazilian Market and our motivation to give Carioca players a safe, responsible and effective game option,” added Garita.

This event was one of the most important gambling-related events in all of Latin America.  Giving important government officials and gaming representatives a chance to meet and collectively discuss the evolution of the industry ensures that it can move forward in conjunction with regulatory guidelines.
