The Ministry Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Water Resources jointly published the State  Encouraged Water Conservation Procedures, Technologies and Equipment for Industries(2019)(The Book). HBIS High Efficiency Water Film Cold Peak Shaving Water Saving Technology and Euipment was accepted by the list, giving momentum to the promotion and application of this technology.

This year’s book covers 13 types and 128 items of water conservation procedures, technologies and equipment for general purposes, steel industry and oil industry. This book is about to implement the National Water Conservation Action Plan and improve the promotion and application of high efficiency water conservation procedures, technologies and equipment and green development of industries.

As one of the largest steel manufacturers and service suppliers of the world, HBIS has been firmly adopting the concepts of “Ecology First and Green Development”by building a green, economic and social welfare beneficial business model. It is now a leader of energy conservation and environment protection in the industry. The evaporation loss of cooling water adds to 45% of new water consumption in steel industry, makes it a key procedure that could save water significently. To tackle the water loss of cooling systems, HBIS is working with the University of Tianjin and developing the Water Film Cold Peak Shaving Air Cool System, which is a Dry-Wet Air Cooling style system. It is now one of successful projects in the “13rd Five Year Plan of the Country”. This technology and equipment have been in commercial application in HBIS Chengsteel in its 1280m3/h volume showpiece project which is able to reduce the evaporation of recycling cooling water by 90%.
