Royal DSM, a global science-based company in Nutrition, Health and Sustainable Living, and METEX NØØVISTA, a subsidiary of biological chemistry company METABOLIC EXPLORER, have announced an exclusive, global strategic collaboration to deliver a 100% bio-sourced ingredient for skincare products. The ingredient will be sustainably produced in Carling Saint Avoid, France. It is the first time that this bio-ingredient is made on this scale in Europe.

TILAMAR® PDO with NØØVISTA, made from 100% locally sourced vegetable oil, improves skin moisturization, leaving the skin feeling soft and firm. It can be used to replace the commonly used petroleum-based glycols and can be applied in a variety of cosmetic applications, such as body lotions and facial creams.

The ingredient is produced at METEX NØØVISTA’s new, state-of-the-art production site in Carling Saint Avold, France. Production is planned to start at the end of 2020.

We are delighted with the start of this strategic global cooperation. It represents another solid step in our long-term strategy to expand our portfolio with bio-sourced ingredients” commented Gareth Barker, President, DSM Personal Care & Aroma Ingredients. “By combining DSM’s skin care ingredients and application expertise with METEX NØØVISTA’s expertise for the production of bio-based functional ingredients, we address the growing demand among leading cosmetics brands for high-performance, sustainable products.”

Speaking about the collaboration, Antoine Darbois, CEO of METEX NØØVISTA, said: "We are very pleased with our partnership with DSM, an innovation & purpose-led company that shares our values. It will strongly support METEX NØØVISTA’s objectives of addressing the latest consumer expectations in terms of naturalness through the sustainable production of functional ingredients by fermentation.”
